In Pilar, province of Córdoba, nearby the current Pilar power plant, 41 kilometers south of the capital of the city, just come into service the new power plant "Bicentenario" with a combined cycle configuration and its related works including three turbines (the first two ones, of 160 MW each have been working at open-cycle mode for over a year, fueled by gas / diesel oil), a transformer station and two high voltage lines of 132 kV which connect the central power plant to the transformer stations of Córdoba city. The total capacity of 465 MW is completed with the third steam turbine which profits from the heat coming from the combustion gases of the first two, thus integrating the closed cycle. This project, now on a closing stage, is performed in partnership with SENER Engineering and Sistemas S.A. |
