The south phase was in the hands of INTESAR and it was developed along 242,5 km. between Colonia Elía (Entre Ríos) and General Rodríguez (Buenos Aires). It included the enlargement of the transformer stations to 500 kV, Colonia Elía and General Rodríguez and the interconnection to Manuel Belgrano combined cycle power station. The execution of this phase has posed important challenges mainly given the flooding potential of large part of the area and the long distances between the river crosses of Paraná Guazú and Paraná de las Palmas.
